The London Platinum and Palladium Market (LPPM) is a trade association that oversees and promotes the trading of platinum and palladium in London.

About the LPPM

Established in 1987 to provide a forum for the trading community involved in the precious metals markets. The LPPM’s  primary focus is now on the market quality and responsibly sourcing of PGMs.

 

Key functions and aspects of the LPPM include:

 

  • Standards and Good Delivery Practices for Bars and Ingots: The LPPM has established Good Delivery Rules and Practices that set the standards for the quality and specifications of platinum and palladium bars that are accepted for trading on the LPPM clearing centres of London, Zurich and other international markets. This helps maintain the integrity of the market by ensuring the authenticity and quality of traded metals.
  • Standards for Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium sponge: The LPPM has established standards for PGM in sponge form. The LPPM oversees the process of Sponge Accreditation for its refiners. This helps to maintain the integrity of PGM sponge delivered from LPPM refiners. 
  • Responsible Sourcing Programme for LPPM Refiners: The LPPM has established a Responsible Sourcing Programme, based on OECD principles, for its PGM refiners. Overseeing the annual audits and embracing the concept of continuous improvement in all aspects of responsible sourcing.
  • Market Information: The LPPM provides market participants with valuable information, including daily prices.
  • Networking and Collaboration: The association serves as a platform for networking and collaboration among its members., by organising seminars and conferences around the World. This fosters communication and cooperation within the PGM community.
